Privacy is rapidly disappearing, but you can preserve yours
Technology has advanced and greatly improved our lives, however there is always a cost involved. As computers improve and data storage grows cheaper everyday, more and more information about the public is collected, analysed and stored. Many would be shocked at what information is available to the general public as well as Big Data entities.
Many people who express concern about the disappearance of privacy don't hesitate to engage in social media and feed Big Data vast amounts of personal information. Remember, if you aren't paying for a service, YOU ARE THE PRODUCT!
If you work in law enforcement, the military or another field with safety and security concerns, or are a person who cares about preserving your privacy, then you should not have a personal social media presence. Social Media makes it's money by selling everything they learn about you as you use their products. Facebook is said to know approximately 98 things about every Facebook user. Did you really contemplate the possible ramifications to your personal privacy when you rapidly clicked through the terms of service? Most people don't, which is what the various Social Media platforms count on as part of their business plan.
